you didn't remember haibara not meeting him, whilst meeting the other two? i left a comment like 2 years ago (can't remember the episode, after all 3 characters were introduced and after haibara met rumi and didn't feel pressure). was quite obvious who rum was at that point. the message saying "time is money", which when translated into japanese forms an anagram to wakita kanenori confirmed it. kuroda being rum just doesn't make sense, even if haibara didn't confirm it.

Oh, good point about Haibara. (didn't expect it to be that easy, considering she might have relaxed into a safe environment and not get BO-triggered consistently anymore. Wasn't there a situation where she missed a BO? Dammit, can't remember. Time to rewatch :p)

Now I wonder where the feud between Rumi and Kuroda comes from. Rumi very likely had plans to avenge that shogi player, so beef with the BO. And she was really scared of Kuroda. That whole camp ground case is still rather mysterious to me.

Rumi isn't officially confirmed, but if i'm correct, she's the haneda's bodyguard (Asaca) from the picture. her story is probably along the lines of falling in love with him and him dying on her guard duty. it would also "explain" beef with kuroda, as the logical connection on the surface would be that she staged the haneda's death and avoided the sentence due to lack of evidence (since haneda's death was mysterious, if i remember it correctly), or she worked with the police in the past and something happened there. it's all just speculation, we'll probably find out in a year or two haha. i should rewatch the show as well, as i've probably missed some stuff too ^^

well black organization things i guess.. like assassination (becuz they could kill someone without any traces and produce poisonous drug), intel information stuff and deception as vermouth literally can disguise as police officer, actress or anybody and get money from the victims' circle or people who hired them.

The boss of BO Karasuma Renya is a wealthy tycoon exceeding those of Sonoko Suzuki's family and Momiji Ooka's family, so expenses wise its not a problem. He was said to be the most powerful person in Japan, topping even the Prime Minister, he also has numerous global connections and businesses. So buying and illegally importing weapons is not a problem to him as well, he can just make members do the work while he is the brains in the shadows similar to those of James Moriarty.

honestly, to anyone who's paid attention, they've gone out of their way to make it somewhat obvious (though the "paying attention" part is super important there). glad it's finally been revealed, though! wonder now who rum's boss is. have a feeling that's gonna be an even bigger reveal.

and actually I would say that the big boss is connected to shinichis family father or mother or both. They are smart to even smart out the Kudo family. So their path in life had to be crossed in the past because smart people are mostly in the same places like lectures, theathre or media events or charities.
Or someone mentioned in the first episode.
I dont know maybe even the father of rans girlfriend since he has a big corporation and is rich.
Nobody is rich in this anime without working with the black organization.

So First Episode ist the key to all questions. We have to think out of the box and watch it different to get a hint.

Bro remember the first rule of old classis crime novels. The culprit always shows up in the first episode. Its always been so in all classic novels. Its a formel rule. And this series is based on arthur conan doyle novels.
Soooo it has to be someone from the first epsiode! Either he showed up with a disguise and we acutally see him with different face mask and clothing or he showed up in real appearence.

If you ask me Rum looked hot in the car tho. In Japan he would be called "Ike-Oji", meaning sexy old man. Although kinda reminded me of Sonoko's uncle Jirokichi from first sight, but im personally happy about Rum's character.

I agree, I felt like after the grenade, he could've sniped Gin really quick. The others wouldn't have gotten into a fight with the boat because the boat didn't do anything. They knew the shots were coming from the bridge. There would be no point in going after the boat.

They made the Rum's identity obvious with the church case. Killing Gin or all of them would've been worth the sacrifice. Pretty sure nobody died from that failed trap too. Can't have the MC responsible for a death I guess.

The rum intro was so good if only they had animated it better.
